Meet Logan
At an early age, Logan developed an interest in finance and economics. He began his career developing predictive sales models as a financial analyst, climbing his way up the ladder to get involved in some high-profile public equity projects - including building quantitative decision-making models for a $16B portfolio that provides retirement benefits to 350K+ state and local government workers in Kentucky.
Logan has fundraising experience in the private and public sectors. He has raised public funds through tax increment financing and advised municipalities on series financing.
As a Fractional CFO, Logan has guided many CEOs through the fundraising process, developing financial models, economic reports, and investment decks. He has extensive experience navigating the due diligence process and structuring investment and M&A transactions.
Logan's work as a Fractional CFO led him to identify a significant gap in the fintech marketplace. The companies he collaborated with were grappling with the complexity of maintaining financial models in Excel. Recognizing the need for a purpose-built financial modeling solution, he partnered with Steven Plappert, a fellow finance enthusiast. They shared their idea with some local founders in the Louisville community and confirmed there was viable interest in a tool that would make financial modeling more accessible to people outside the world of finance.
Logan and Steven started working on Forecastr in 2018, before embarking on a transformative journey through the Techstars Anywhere accelerator program in 2020.
As Logan puts it, "Everything just kind of fell into place for us. We were in the right place, at the right time, surrounded by awesome people who supported us and helped us get our idea off the ground."
